Brenda Lee, born Brenda Mae Tarpley on 11 December 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia, is an American pop, rock and country singer.
A star and child prodigy in the 1960s, she is best known for her song I'm Sorry (en), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in July 1960, and for Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree in 1958, which has been a classic American song for 50 years.
